Voice of Flint, Flame of The Sister Tour

“Pouring Truth, Healing, and Fire Into Every Verse”
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Shea Phire Cobb is an artist, mother, author, musician, and founder of The Sister Tour, a platform amplifying the voices of women in the arts. From her first poetry performances in children’s summer programs to national stages at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, Shea’s work blends truth-telling, community healing, and creative fire.
Her poetry collections — Travels in My Car, Honey Tea and Hibiscus, and Ruby in the Rough (with Amber Hasan) — are love letters to resilience, womanhood, and the power of storytelling. In ongoing collaboration with LaToya Ruby Frazier, Shea has carried the story of the Flint Water Crisis across the country, using art as both witness and catalyst for change.
Through her words, music, and leadership, Shea transforms lived experience into art that uplifts, challenges, and connects — a living testament to the creative energy flowing through Flint.
